DRIVING forces behind a long-awaited Ottery pedestrian safety scheme face a race against time to get the project underway to hundreds of thousands of funding being lost.
In his annual report, mayor Glyn Dobson said a footpath and cycleway project to link the Land of Canaan to the Thorne Farm Estate is "very much alive", but work must start my March 2011.
"This will be a great asset to the town," he said.
