THE Sidmouth Nursing Home has been awarded a three-star mark of excellence by the Care Quality Commission.
The Winslade Road premises is the first nursing home in the area to be given the accolade following an inspection in August.
The Care Quality Commission's report praised the home for its quality of care, saying residents are treated with "the utmost dignity and respect". The Commission also lauded its standard of food.
Report findings were based on personal feedback from Healthcare professionals and families of those who use services at the home.
Manager Julie Casely praised her staff and said: "I am delighted with the report. I have a skilled, professional team of nursing and caring staff who are highly trained and motivated. I would like to thank them for all their hard work over the last two years."
The home provides day, as well as residential care.
