A SIDMOUTH man, who raised more than 1,000 for charity, would like to thank everyone who contributed.
David Gurney raised 1,040 for the deaf charity RNID by cycling 215 miles from London to Paris.
He said: "The ride was most enjoyable, although day one, from South East London to Dover, was harder than anticipated."
When David- and the group of 80 he was with- arrived at the Eiffel Tower they opened up a bottle of bubbly and celebrated their feat. More than 30,000 was raised by 25 members of the group.
David would particularly like to thank the "generous" people who gave money in Sidmouth market square and the Sidmouth Garden Centre coffee shop.
He also thanked the cycling club who arranged two raffles and those egg-heads who put their brains to the test in the pub quiz.
He added: "So thank you again for supporting RNID who help the many thousands of people who are profoundly deaf or very hard of hearing to live as easy and full a life as possible.
