EXMOUTH'S National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) on Friday lunchtime aided the rescue of a windsurfer that was reported to be in difficulty.
The Exmouth Coastwatch group, manning the seafront tower, was contacted by Brixham coastguard to relay the windsurfer's position and bearing.
Exmouth NCI spokesman Arnold Kanarek said: "Before further action could be taken, he was spotted by the Stuart Line high speed rigid inflatable boat, which was returning from a trip.
"The windsurfer and craft were returned safely to the beach.
