THE national trend for family and local history research is being embraced by Devon County Council's Record Office.
Members of the Devon Family History Society will be on hand at the Devon Record Office on Thursday March 26th to offer advice and help for people who are trying to trace their family history.
The day is aimed at complete beginners and researchers who have hit a brick wall in their progress.
Members of the public are invited to pre book a 45 minute slot with a member from the DFHS between the hours of 10am and 3pm, to find out how they can use popular websites including www.ancestrylibrary.com as well as find out more about accessing written records in the Record Office.
Executive Member for Culture, Councillor Sheila Hobden said:
"This is a great opportunity for everyone to visit to the Devon Record Office for an informal chat and receive some valuable help with family history research. These events have proved very popular in the past and I'm sure there'll be plenty of family treasures to uncover!"
These slots fill up quickly so those interested are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
