AN ELDERLY woman on a shopping trip to Sidmouth on Saturday, lost her own ring and found another.
While she is philosophical about losing her own ring, set with small diamonds and a wartime gift, Eveline James, 90, from Gammington, Taunton, is keen to find the owner of the gold ring her daughter found in Old Fore Street while looking for the other.
"I lost my ring in the wool shop there, I could have dropped it when I took my gloves off," said Mrs James.
"I'm not worried about it. When a thing has gone it has gone as far as I'm concerned, but this is someone else's ring I've got and I don't want to keep it."
Anyone who has lost a gold ring should contact Sidmouth Police on (08452) 777 444.
