The issue of climate change, on a national and local level, is the subject of a free open evening in Sidmouth on Friday, September 16.
Change for Good has been organised by Sidmouth’s churches and will feature the East Devon MP Simon Jupp talking about Government policy on the environment, and answering questions.
East Devon District Council’s Climate Change Officer Catherine Causley and the chair of Sidmouth Town Council, Chris Lockyear, will speak on what is being done locally.
There will be several climate and environmental exhibitors at the event, and the chance for attendees to assess their own carbon footprint.
A spokesman for the event said: “At a time when energy costs are at the forefront of most people’s minds, attending Change for Good is an ideal way to re-focus on the climate change challenges we face and some of the ways in which energy usage can be reduced.
“It will also be an opportunity to get an update on the Devon Carbon Plan, which was presented at last year’s meeting at Sidmouth Parish Church.”
The event will be held at All Saints Church from 7pm to 9pm.
