Organisers of the Sidmouth Science Festival say the first weekend of this year’s festival has been a huge success.
Super Science Saturday had the whole town buzzing especially when the visiting robots went walkabout around the Market Square.
Visitor numbers have been up and many of the make and take activities ran out before the end of the day. However there was still plenty to see and do especially the World Record attempt on the Esplanade with a tin can telephone.
Liz Bramley from the Science Festival Team said: “It was great to see so many youngsters getting really involved in what they were doing. We definitely created some curiosity to explore how things around us work. Many went home with their backpacks full!”
“We are very grateful to all the volunteers who work so hard to keep this Festival evolving.”
There is still lots to do and see with a robot workshop and Environment Day on Saturday followed by the final event at the Norman Lockyer Observatory (admission charges apply) on Sunday.
