Tipton St John’s Eager Beavers are still keeping busy.

The group, who created a community garden earlier this year, are now working on an adjacent piece of land where they plan to hold events next year.

The group has been allocated funding from East Devon District Council to prepare the patch for outdoor workshops and other activities, and make it accessible to all. They have already put in some tree stumps, donated by JJ Tree Services, to use as seating, and have held drumming and foraging workshops there.

Further events will be planned for next spring when the weather is warmer.

The group have also been working with local chef Pierre Graeber to start a pop-up café in Tipton St John village hall. Pierre already runs a similar event in Gittisham, and the Eager Beavers met him at the Ottery Food Festival.

The first pop-up café in Tipton took place on Sunday, November 27, and was well attended. The next will be on Sunday, December 18.
