Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run in Ottery St Mary that left a person with serious injuries.
Officers were called to reports of an injured person in Cadhay Lane at about 11.30am today (Thursday, January 19).
Emergency services also attended and a road closure was put in place in both directions between the Fairmile turn-off and the school. The casualty was taken to hospital.
Police have confirmed that they are treating the incident as a suspected hit-and-run collision, and officers remain in the area making enquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dashcam footage that could help with the investigation is asked to contact police via the website or by calling 101, quoting log 0282 of 19 January.
