The upcoming production of My Fair Lady by Sidmouth Musical Theatre is to be dedicated to the leading lady's late father.

The role of Eliza Doolittle is being played by Vicky Evans, who has been involved with the society since she was a child, together with her parents, Pat and Ray Salter. While Pat performed on stage, Ray was a backstage stalwart who filled the roles of Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager many times.

Ray passed away in January of this year and the society has decided to dedicate the production to his memory, together with that of Michael Lee, the society’s main sponsor for many years, who also died recently.

Vicky grew up in Sidmouth, attended the Sidmouth College and the Finch School of Dancing, and gained her teaching diploma in ballet from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing in 2004. She is now Head of Sixth Form and Head of Drama and Dance at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton.

My Fair Lady will be performed at the Manor Pavilion Theatre from Monday, April 10 until Friday 15.
