Sidmouth Musical Theatre’s production of My Fair Lady opens at the Manor Pavilion Theatre on Monday, April 10, and runs through to Saturday 15.

The production of the highly popular musical take on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion will be an emotional occasion for the group, as it is dedicated to the memory of two local men.

Ray Salter, whose daughter Vicky Evans plays the lead role of Eliza Doolittle, died in January this year. He had been a stalwart member of SMT's backstage team for many years.

The production is also dedicated to the memory of Michael Lee from Potbury's, who died last autumn and had been a supporter of SMT (formerly Sidmouth Arts Club Operatic Society) for a long time.

Sidmouth Musical Theatre say presenting My Fair Lady will cost them around £28,000 and they are hoping as many people as possible will support the venture. Tickets are selling fast but there are still seats available for all performances.

The box office is open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am until 2pm, or from one hour before each performance; tickets can also be bought online at www.manorpavilion.com
