Students from The King’s School swapped hard graft for high glamour when they celebrated the end of their summer exams with a prom at Woodbury Park.
More than 150 Year 11 students attended the event on Wednesday, July 5, arriving in a range of special vehicles, dressed in smart suits and prom dresses.
The event was organised by students with the support of the Head of Kennaway House, Mr Coult.
Headteacher Rob Gammon said the students thoroughly deserved a special evening out after the difficulties they had faced during the Covid pandemic.
He said: “I am very proud of the achievements of these students. They have worked hard and shown resilience during what has been a challenging few years.
“As a cohort, they have made a significant contribution to the life of the school and they reflect very strongly the school’s ‘Achievement for All’ ethos which makes our school community so special.
“I am sure that this group will achieve a tremendous set of examination results and it has been a privilege to see them achieve so much personally over the time they have been at the school. We are delighted that we are welcoming many of them back into our outstanding sixth form in September.”
