Coldharbour Field Kitchen near Ottery St Mary has been recognised by Tripadvisor as one of the top restaurants worldwide, based on visitor reviews.

It's been named among the 2023 Travellers’ Choice award winners, celebrating businesses that have consistently received glowing feedback on Tripadvisor over the last 12 months.

Reviews on the site praise the quality of Coldharbour Field Kitchen's breakfasts and tapas, the friendly staff, the stunning views from the outdoor decking, and the fact that dogs are welcome.

Co-owner Andrea Broadhurst said: “This was a fantastic surprise for us and it’s really great to know that the vast majority of reviews are positive. We’ve put our heart and soul into the field kitchen and this award shows that what we’re getting it right.”

Business partner Beth Ashfield said: “We work really hard to make sure every customer has a great experience, whether they’re here for a full meal or just for a cuppa and cake. We really do listen to what our customers say and respond whenever possible if there are things that need changing. But most seem very happy with what we’re doing!”

The field kitchen opened in June 2022 and has already won awards including a gold Devon Tourism award and a silver South West Tourism award.

This year it added an outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired oven for cooking pizzas, flame-grilled meats and roasted vegetables. From October 8 the very popular Sunday roasts are returning to the menu.
