DEVON and the rest of the South West looks to be in for a soggy week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain over an 30-hour period.

We can expect a bit of a soaking to herald in the month of November.

The rain warning covering the whole of the region runs from 6pm on Wednesday (November 1) until midnight the following day (Thursday, November 2).

A spokesperson for the weather forecaster said: "Heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán is also likely to bring further disruption."

Here's what to expect during the weather warning:

  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible;
  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings;
  • Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads;
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life.

A number of flood warnings are already in place in the South West and Storm Ciarán is likely to bring strong winds gusting up yo 80mph in places.
