The Donkey Sanctuary is all set to spread festive cheer to families this Christmas.

It is offering a new winter trail, as well as free admission and parking for visitors.

For pet lovers, the sanctuary welcomes your furry friends too.

This popular attraction, which can be found in the Devon countryside near Sidmouth, will be open every day - except Christmas Day.

A spokesperson from The Donkey Sanctuary added: "There is lots to see and do, both indoors and outside, and dogs on leads are welcome too".

The brand new winter trail, named 'Toys and Treats', promises an adventure in uncovering clues leading to the beloved Adoption donkeys' favourite toys and treats.

Trail sheets are priced at £5, featuring a prize upon completion.

Hosting more than 200 donkeys, this sanctuary offers an exciting collection of attractions.

Daily talks, engaging exhibits, a play-zone and ample pathways ensure a day of delight for visitors of all ages.

Adding to the fun is the Bat Beacon that educates visitors about the beneficial bats around the sanctuary's premises.

For those seeking to escape the winter chill, the award-winning, on-site restaurant, The Kitchen, serves freshly prepared meals with local, seasonal produce and stunning views of the lush countryside and sea.

The Gift Shop further provides an opportunity to buy Christmas presents and souvenirs.
