Sales of a Sidmouth woman's book on tortoises have raised £600 for the local Hospice at Home charity.
Jenny Fensom, who has five pet tortoises, launched her second book Dandelion Days in September. It's a reworking of her earlier book Tortoise Talk, with an extra section written by a vet and contributions from friends.
All the income from sales of the book, priced at £10 per copy, will go to Sidmouth Hospice at Home.
She said: "I am not benefiting financially at all. I funded the printing costs myself; my aims in writing the book were to promote better knowledge for prospective tortoise ownership and to give money to the charity."
Jenny still has 30 books available for sale. They can be bought at Fitzalan Gems, Woolbrook News and Paragon Books, or can be ordered by phoning her on 01395 576825 or emailing jennyfensomfoxdale@hotmail.co.uk
Delivery is free in the Sidmouth area; otherwise there is a £2.40 charge for postage and packing.
