A charity gig by a group of local musicians has raised nearly £1,300 for the Stroke Association.
Clive Salmon - known to friends as Piano Sam - organised the concert at the chapel of St John's School in Sidmouth on January 12. He is director of music at the school.
He is also a former member of the well-known Devon funk/soul/disco band Joey The Lips, having played with them during the 1990s.
At the charity gig he was joined on stage by Dan Nicholls, Rob Sporle, Marc Bennetts and Louis Fitzhenry, to perform a range of tunes from artists including Blur, Jools Holland, The Jam and Eric Clapton.
Clive said the gig was in memory of his father, and came a year after another charity concert for Dementia UK, dedicated to his mother, which raised £1,800.
He said: "It was lovely to honour the memory of both of my parents, and what better way than getting a big bunch of friends together and watching them dance and have fun while performing?
"It was also great to reconnect with Maggie Reeday as we were both Joey The Lips members.
"I am very thankful to my friends for their generous donations and to the other band members."
