The deadline for nominations for the Sidmouth Rotary Club Citizen of the Year 2023 award has been extended until Friday, February 9.

Once again, the Herald is in partnership with the Rotary Club in the search for someone who deserves recognition for making a real difference to people's lives in the area. It could be someone who works for a charity or an individual who acts on their own behalf to make the community a better place.

Last year's winner was Teresa Loynd for her work both with the Woolbrook community and in helping Ukrainian families. Looking further back, Lynette Talbot won the 2016 award for her many years as Chairman of Sidmouth in Bloom, making the town a brighter place. Ian Skinner took the award in 2017 for his multiple community and charity endeavours, Graham Whitlock was 2018's  Citizen of the Year for his work since 2006 turning around the Manor Pavilion and making it a vibrant theatre, and Angela Thompson won in 2021 for her work with the Memory Cafe.

Nominations, preferably typed, for the 2023 Award must be accompanied with the form printed in the Sidmouth Herald - photocopies will not be accepted - and should be sent to the Rotary Club coordinator as indicated on the form. Nominations must be received by Friday, February 9.
