Sidmouth's shop selling vintage children's comics, annuals and memorabilia has closed down less than a year after opening its doors in Libra Court.
Owner Vincent Hicks said he was shutting up shop for personal reasons, but will continue buying and selling through his website www.comicissues.co.uk
The site offers a wide range of much-loved children's comics from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, including Vincent's own favourite The Beano, along with annuals and memorabilia including original artwork.
Vincent, a keen collector, will also continue buying vintage issues. He has been collecting for around 30 years and is particularly keen on publications from the 1960s and earlier.
He announced the closure of the Comic Issues shop in a Facebook post on Saturday, February 3, in which he thanked all the customers who'd supported him since he opened last spring. He told the Herald he has donated a lot of his stock to local charity shops 'as I feel this is the best way to benefit others from my closure'.
He added: "My intention is to keep buying and selling via my website comicissues.co.uk and people can contact me via vincent@comicissues.co.uk"
