Ottery's Coldharbour Farm business is appealing for the public to help its chances of winning a so-called 'Rural Oscar'.

The Coldharbour Farm Shop and Field Kitchen is a finalist in this year’s Countryside Alliance Awards, in the Food and Drink category.

Nominations are initially judged on criteria including passion and commitment, sense of community, championing local food and the energy and diversity of the business. The final  winners are then chosen based on the number of votes they receive from the public.

Coldharbour’s co-owner Andrea Broadhurst said: “The competition is really tough and there are some brilliant businesses in the running. We know it’s a bit of an ask for people to follow a link and vote for us, but we would be so grateful for the support.

“It was a total surprise to find out we’d been nominated in the first place, and it would be incredibly exciting to win!”

Voting closes on Monday, April 1 and the UK champions will be announced in June.
