Wow – it's been a busy few weeks. It's great to be back in the swing of things and we are super excited to have welcomed some new members to the Youth Centre in these last couple of months.

Myself and the team have been busy sorting through the youth centre to try and make the space suitable for the young people but also the hirers of the building. We are very excited that from April we will hopefully be welcoming Jurassic Childcare, who will be using the space on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the daytime. Of course, Salvation Army will still be using the centre on Tuesdays and the foodbank will continue to run from the building too.

We are also happy to report that we have recently been given some money by the Sid Vale Association’s Keith Owen Fund. This will help us fund more of our street-based outreach work and will help our team reach more young people within the community. With the money we will be purchasing some more Zorbs – they are very popular with our young people - along with an inflatable football/golf dart board and an all in one ninja training slack line. We will also be speaking to the young people in the coming weeks to get an idea of what else they think will be suitable.

I would like to use this space to highlight again that we are always on the lookout for more volunteers, a one-off skill sharing session or a more regular slot. Please get in touch if you think you could spare some time – Charlotte.westlake@youngdevon.org
