A Spring Activity Day for children is taking place at Sidmouth Parish Church next Thursday, April 11.

The free event, suitable for children aged three to 12, is being organised by the Sid Vale Association. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The activities will start at 10am and include:

Designing and making a flower frieze, using drawing, painting and print techniques. The frieze will be later displayed in the church. 

Green Man mask making, using artificial and real foliage to make a mask, with examples of masks for the children to copy or gain ideas from.

Fossil rubbing with crayons using fossils that have been collected by Sidmouth Museum.

Skin art using face paints and stencils to create designs on arms, hands, feet or face.

Planting sunflower and mustard and cress seeds to take home and watch them grow.

Create a rainbow - a drawing and cutting activity.

There will also be a drawing table and a book corner.

Local storyteller Janet Dowling will present two story sessions at 11.30am and 1pm. At 2pm there will be a fun singalong led by Sue Nicholson and Kelvin Dent from Sidmouth Folk Choir.

All the activities are free of charge and will be run by volunteers. A tea and coffee stall will be open throughout the day.

The event will finish at 3pm.
