A Grand Ceilidh Night was held at Blackmore Gardens on Saturday, August 3, featuring The Cock and Bull band with caller Michael Catovsky.
It was one of many ceilidhs held at Sidmouth Folk Festival.
Michael Catovsksy said: "Sidmouth is the best place for ceilidhs in the UK. They are running throughout the day and cater for all abilities and styles. Key venues include the Blackmore Gardens, The Bulverton and of course the free lunchtime and afternoon ceilidhs at The Anchor. There's no need to come with a partner as there tend to be people available and happy to dance. Ceilidhs are about fun and enjoyment. As a caller it's wonderful to look out at the crowd and see so many happy, smiling faces."
Maureen Thwaite from Liverpool said: "I enjoy the dancing and the music is so lively and uplifting." Her daughter Christine White added: "This is my first ceilidh and I'm really looking forward to it. I love the sense of community and the energy of people having a good time."
During the interval the dancers were entertained by the energetic Cotswold Morris side Eynsham Morris.
