An annual event is set to provide a festive feast for those alone at Christmas.

Sidmouth Community Christmas Lunch will take place on December 25, from 12.15pm to 3.30pm, offering guests a free vegetarian or traditional Christmas dinner.

Transport can be arranged for those in need.

Last year, guest Norma Harper said: "This is the first time I've come and I'm very glad I did.

"I've had an excellent lunch and met lovely people."

Volunteer Maria McCarthy said: "This was a fun event with a wonderful community atmosphere where volunteers and guests enjoyed celebrating Christmas together."

Organiser Carla Scott said: "This is my 6th year of organising the Community Christmas Lunch and it's such an enjoyable and worthwhile event.

"Anyone who is alone at Christmas is most welcome to come along as a guest."
