Families looking to rein in the cost of a day out can still enjoy a popular donkey attraction without paying for entry or parking.
The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth is home to around 200 resident donkeys and attracts more than 400,000 visitors each year from the region, across the UK and overseas.
The East Devon attraction remains free to visit and also offers free parking.
The site is dog-friendly and includes miles of countryside trails, as well as a playpark in a landscaped area, a maze, indoor exhibitions, picnic areas and gardens.
Head of commercial activities Ben Winnard said: "We recognise how important our free-to-visit offering is to many families and local people who enjoy spending time at the Sanctuary throughout the year."
Ben added: "We also value the opportunity to provide a welcoming and accessible experience for everyone who visits us, whether they are local residents, adopters, supporters, or visitors from further afield."
The sanctuary has also won a number of tourism awards, including Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travellers' Choice Award.
This summer, visitors can take part in the Curious Coastal Quest, a trail around the sanctuary based on the Jurassic Coast.
Eight Jurassic Coast boards are hidden around the site, with visitors challenged to match lost items with stickers on their trail sheets.
The sanctuary also has a restaurant serving locally sourced, freshly prepared seasonal food, as well as a gift shop selling donkey-themed items.
The charity says all profit from the restaurant and gift shop supports its work helping donkeys in need.
