All aboard for a miniature crowd-puller as railway enthusiasts turned out to see six layouts, ranging from digitally controlled 0 gauge trains to a model more than 50 years old.
The Sidmouth Model Railway Group Open Day was held at Sidford Village Hall on August 19.
Among the six layouts was Sidford Railway Company, a 0 gauge layout using Peco track and digital control on mobile phones with sound.
The layouts also included 'Rabbit Warren', a 009 narrow gauge model railway more than 50 years old. It was built by a retired vicar and is loosely based on preserved Welsh narrow gauge railways.
Publicity officer Chris Ward said: “We're very pleased by the turnout for our event, and the camaraderie between the group members and the public has been excellent.”
Chris added: “Sidmouth Model Railway Group is thriving, with 45 members, including three under 16s. “ We are a working group with a wide range of interests and experience. New members are always welcome.”
Member Tom Whittington added: “I enjoy being part of such an active group where we get together to share ideas.”
The group meets weekly at Sidford Village Hall.
