Sidmouth Army cadet Issy Prowse wins best recruit award

A newly joined Army cadet has marched off with a best recruit award after impressing with her maturity, leadership and support for fellow cadets.

Cadet Issy Prowse, of Sidmouth Troop, Devon Army Cadet Force, received the Best Recruit award at A Squadron's awards evening and summer ball at Sandy Park on Saturday night.

Despite only recently joining the Army Cadet Force (ACF), Issy has been mentoring other cadets and has become a strong advocate for female cadets in the troop.

She was nominated for the award by troop commander Sergeant Richard Henderson.

Sgt Henderson said: “Cadet Prowse is a credit to the Troop and a fantastic ambassador for the values and standards of the ACF.

“We are proud of her and delighted for her recognition.”
