Mill Street in Sidmouth will close to through traffic and parking for footbridge replacement work.

Devon County Council has issued notice of a temporary restriction under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The closure is due to begin on September 7 and is expected to end on October 2.

The order can remain in place for a maximum of 18 months.

No vehicle may proceed or wait on the affected section of Mill Street during the restriction.

Signed diversion routes will use York Street, Ham Lane, The Esplanade, Station Road, All Saints Road, Radway Place (A375), Salcombe Road and Milford Road, in both directions.

The restriction is intended to allow the footbridge to be replaced.
