The Red Arrows will no longer stage their full planned display after poor weather and operational restrictions forced a change to the team’s bank holiday programme.
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team is now due to carry out a flypast over Sidmouth Regatta and Airshow at 6.40pm on Friday instead of the scheduled display.
Operational constraints have affected where the team can base its aircraft this week, meaning the Red Arrows cannot use the original planned airfield closer to Sidmouth.
Flying from an airfield further away has reduced the amount of time the jets can spend performing over Sidmouth because of their range.
The team said it had been determined to make an appearance at both Sidmouth and Lyme Regis so people would still be able to see the Red Arrows, even if more briefly.
A new flypast over Lyme Regis has been added to the schedule for 6.35pm on Friday.
The changes come as poor weather is forecast heading into the bank holiday weekend, with the team saying it will do all it can to reach planned events and displays.
A display at RAF Wyton Families’ Day on Thursday afternoon has been cancelled.
At this stage, planned displays at Clacton and Southport are unaffected.
People attending airshows have been advised to continue checking official event and Red Arrows social media pages for updates.
