Councillor suggests EDDC reduce or waive fee for carpet bedding

WITH the 40th anniversary of Sidmouth in Bloom in 2011, there are plans to plant the raised bed with carpet bedding at the Three Cornered Plot to mark this.

East Devon District Council has quoted £3,000, so supporter Doreen Franks has offered land for a giant car boot sale on Sunday, October 24, to raise at least £1,000.

Councillor Stuart Hughes remarked: “It seems really steep to me, we should be looking to EDDC to consider reducing their fee, if not giving it, as it is their 40th year.”
