80ft tree falls in The Byes

Fire crews from Sidmouth were called to the scene.

Fire crews in Sidmouth were called to The Byes yesterday (Thursday) after an 80 foot tree fell.

Both engines were called out shortly before 3.50pm.

A fire spokesman said the crews used a thermal imagine camera to check no-one was under the tree and made the scene safe.

The spokesman added East Devon District Council was are aware of the situation and will send tree surgeons to the Byes later today.
