REMEMBER the emergency services tomorrow (Wednesday) which as 9.9.9 is a unique Emergency Day.

Helna Holt, chief executive of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust said: "We realised at the beginning of the year that this special date was one that it was important to keep in our diary.

"A day when we can highlight and put to the forefront the positive work that not only the Devon Air Ambulance does, but also the essential work of our fellow emergency services colleagues.

"Of course the Devon Air Ambulance is as unique as the date, because although operated as part of the emergency services, we are funded directly by the people and businesses of Devon that we are here to help."

Joining the air ambulance for a photograph were fire engines, a police Landrover and four motorbikes and an ambulance.

Ken Wenman, chief executive of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: "'We are extremely proud of all our staff and the essential services they provide, and are pleased to have forged a positive relationship with our fellow emergency services colleagues.

"This dedicated day is an excellent way to showcase the good work being carried out by the emergency services locally and we are pleased to be a part of it.
