LAST minute Christmas shopping and the chance to buy a signed copy of the latest children's book from local author Richard Parkyn are just two of the reasons to visit Sustainable Ottery's Community Market on 13 December 9.30 - 12.30 at The Institute.

Market shoppers will reduce their food miles and ensure that their money stays in the local economy, as well as having a great range of local produce and crafts to choose from.

Meg Mansfield, one of the organisers, agrees and adds, 'there is such a brilliant atmosphere on the morning; it makes shopping fun again. And you can buy unique, one-off items that make fabulous gifts and produce that couldn't be fresher!"

Again there will a full house of stalls, selling a wide variety of products from small items of furniture to works of art, military models to fairy wings, Christmas decorations to cupcakes and cookies. This is as well as the regular Ottery St Mary's local food producers and craftspeople. Children can have their faces painted while parents relax with a cup of tea and a WI produced cake.
