HIGHWAYS chiefs have reassured Sidmouth residents that progress is being made with roadworks on the A3052.
Residents and town traders have contacted the Herald to voice their frustration at aspects of the resurfacing scheme between Core Hill Road and Sidford Cross.
Garden centre owner Ian Barlow said the project – scheduled to last a month – was ‘costing him a fortune’.
Mr Barlow said he was irked at the apparent lack of progress made when he visited the site early yesterday morning (Thursday). The stretch has been shut since Monday. A Devon County Council spokesman told the Herald: “It can be frustrating for people if they think work isn’t being done, but while it might appear otherwise, some preparatory work has to be done before the next phase of the job can start.”
