OTTERY could be set for an affordable housing boost.

The Herald has learnt a piece of land off St Saviour's road has been earmarked by East Devon District Council to build two three-bedroom semi-detached homes, which would then be made available to people unable to afford to rent or buy property

EDDC executive board members backed the proposal in private earlier this month and a spokesperson said that "subject to a legal issue being resolved" it will be working with a Housing Association to provide the homes.
