Andy Dickens joins jazz quartet for afternoon concert

The Pete Allen Hot Four, plus Andy Dickens on trumpet, will be back in the Cellar Bar at Kennaway House this Sunday, August 26, for another afternoon of jazz.

Andy Dickens is actually a member of Pete’s Hot Seven, but he also appears as a guest sometimes. He has an irrepressible, irreverent sense of fun which comes through both in his music and in the repartee (verbal and instrumental) which he shares with Pete.

Last time, he arrived in a newly acquired Morgan, and astounded band members and audience alike by appearing on stage in helmet and goggles, in true Biggles style. This inspired Pete and the band spontaneously to invent “The Morgan Blues”, complete with words which Pete made up as he went along! All this brought the house down and served inadvertently to showcase the immense talent of all the musicians.

Sunday’s show will begin at 3pm, doors will open at 2pm and admission will be £13.50.
