A Tipton school pupil was the youngest ever swimmer to complete the famous Topsham to Turf Lock swim.

Callum Budge, 10, took part in the annual charity swim from Ferryman’s slipway along the Exe Estuary with his father last month.

The Tipton St John Primary School pupil was the youngest of the 100 competitors in the one-mile open water race last month. Organisers hope this year’s event will raise more than £6,000 for Estuary League of Friends, and both Callum and his dad Michael are very proud of the 10 year-old’s achievement to swim non-stop along the course.

They said they are already planning to take part in next year’s swim.
