Sidmouth Carnival procession big moment for carnival queen Rosie
THE fair is up and running and tomorrow (Saturday) the streets of Sidmouth will be alive to the sound of carnival.
Sidmouth Carnival kicks off from Woolbrook Road at 7.30pm and it is the moment this year’s carnival queen, Rosie Davis-Stokes and her princesses, Jasmine Doorman and Taylor Beavis have been waiting for as they process ahead of the other floats in the event.
Terry Clarke, carnival chairman, hopes drivers will heed his plea to avoid parking along the procession route as last year several parked cars caused problems for the larger entries.
Rosie, 13, a student at Sidmouth College, and Taylor and Jasmine, were crowned by Adrian Harvey, musical director of Sidmouth Town Band, during a concert given by the band at The Balfour. *Four pages of pictures in next week’s Herald.
