CHILDREN at Sidmouth Pre-School Playgroup will soon be able to play outside, come rain or shine.
Thanks to 2,500 given by Devon County Council from funds allocated from the sale of Exeter Airport, the playgroup, based at All Saints Infants, can create an all-weather play area for its youngsters.
The money comes from Sidmouth Sidford County Councillor Stuart Hughes' local project fund.
He said: "I am delighted to have been in the position to help the Sidmouth Playgroup and the youngsters who attend by supporting their application and making available the funds required to provide the all-weather play area that will ensure that the youngsters will be able to play outside in all weathers."
Charlotte Hollingshead, chairman of the playgroup committee added: "This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to create an all-weather play area so the children can enjoy playing outside all year round."
Its manager, Lynne Rattue said: "We are delighted that the children have earned themselves a good splash about outdoors."
