Sidmouth fire crews have yet again been forced to ask residents to stay vigilant after another lifesaver’s bicycle was stolen.

A black Giant mountain bike was stolen from outside the crew member’s Tyrrell Mead home sometime on Sunday or Monday (December 3 or 4).

A spokesman for Sidmouth Fire Station said: “Another of your local Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service firefighters has had their shout bike stolen.

“The firefighter’s bike could literally be the difference of life and death for someone in an emergency.

“If he/she cannot get to the station, the appliance will be delayed – every second counts.

“Another bike will now have to be purchased an additional expense not needed at this time of year.

“If anyone has any info or knows where the bike is, do the right thing and take it back.”

The fire station put out an appeal in August after a bike was stolen but it was later recovered.
