Ramblers can enjoy seeing the sights of East Devon on one of 15 new walking routes.
The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) team has worked together with the East Devon Ramblers and the district council’s countryside team to devise the circular walks along the East Devon Way.
More than 25 walkers braved the weather to take part in the inaugural walk across Knapp Copse, near Sidmouth, on Saturday.
The walkers toasted the launch of the walks with a glass of warm, spiced apple juice before beginning the 4.9-mile course. At the end they enjoyed a roast dinner at the Hare and Hounds.
Karen Whittaker of the AONB team said: “Autumn is a perfect time to explore the countryside and these circular walks showcase the very best of the AONB and provide numerous points to explore this outstanding environment. Most of the walks are near public transport or parking places.”
