Honiton CID are appealing for witnesses after two people were assaulted in Sidmouth.
The adult couple were out for the evening when the incident happened near the conservative club at around 12.30am on Saturday, July 6.
The woman sustained head injuries.
Police believe the incident involved a group of teenagers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or with information is asked to call 101 and quote crime reference KS/13/350.
