WORK on the restoration of Kennaway House, a Grade Two* Regency house, has finished and architect and historic building consultant Purcell Miller Tritton was involved in the project.

Imperial Construction SW undertook the construction work on the house, built in 1805, the year of Trafalgar.

Project architect Neil Wall said: "It's been rewarding to draw on our considerable experience in the heritage sector and perform such a key role in restoring this important building, which clearly plays such a vital role in the local community."

He said the enormity of the project became clear as major structural repairs were carried out and the roof replaced.

Access was widened and a lift for the disabled incorporated.

English Heritage approved the conservation management plan and work began in July 2008.
