Armed officers were deployed to Ottery St Mary this afternoon as part of a ‘pre-planned operation’.
A force spokeswoman said no weapons were used in the exercise at around 3pm.
She said: “Police were involved in a pre-planned operation near Ottery St Mary in which armed officers were deployed to maximise public safety. No weapons were used and the operation was successful.”
