Armed police in late night callout to Ottery following reports of air pistol

Armed police were called and a man arrested during a disturbance in an Ottery home.
Officers were sent to Gerway Lane around 10.45pm last night [November 13] and remained until the early hours of this morning after reports of an air pistol at the address.
A police spokesman said no-one was injured or threatened by a pistol during the incident but a 20-year-old man had been arrested for common assault.
The spokesman said: “Two people left the property while one man remained inside in a distressed state.
“Negotiators attended the address and the man left the property without incident at 3.20am today [14 November].

“A CO2 air pistol was recovered from the address by police. No-one was injured by or threatened with the pistol during the incident.
“A 20-year-old man was arrested for common assault on another man. He remains in custody.”
