After a two year absence because of the pandemic, The Otter Vale Art Society is excited to be returning to The Institute in Ottery St Mary for their Annual Art Exhibition this year.

While the online exhibition of 2020 was successful there really is no substitute for live displays of art to the general public and the prospect of this has spurred society members on to produce pieces for it.
30 contributors have created more than 150 different and varied pieces to view, including framed and unframed work, oils, acrylics, water colours, drawings, mixed media, pastels and 3D art, all priced from £10 upwards.

Jackie Browning from the art group said: “The Society has not been idle during the lockdowns. Meeting on Zoom for workshops and demonstrations each month has been a valuable way of keeping in touch with each other. New members have joined the Society because of these events. They have found that producing their art during the past 16 months has been beneficial, rewarding, and given them a great feeling of wellbeing and enjoyment.”

The Exhibition starts on Friday, August 6 and finishes on Saturday, August 14, open from 10am until 5pm every day. Admission is £1 for adults and free for children and students. Debit and credit cards can be taken for the first time this year. There are also pieces of art displayed in some of the town’s shop windows so you can have a taste of what’s on offer when you visit.
