A group of artists from Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary will be hosting an exhibition in aid of the Admiral Nurse Campaign.
In the Picture supports a local cause each year with its display at Kennaway House.
Leader Trudi Longmire said members were thinking about the impact a dementia specialist could have as they get older, adding: “They voted [for a cause to support] and the Admiral Nurse came out on top.”
Proceeds from the artists’ commissions, donations and refreshments will be gifted to the appeal. Last year, the exhibition raised more than £1,000 for Sidmouth Lifeboat. Trudi said people are welcome to enjoy the art and have a coffee and slice of homemade cake. The exhibition will run from 10am to 4pm on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19.
The Sid Valley Memory Café is more than halfway to securing an Admiral Nurse for the area. The charity is working in partnership with the Herald to raise £100,000 to pay for the nurse for two years.
