A Sidmouth Voluntary Services (SVS) bus driver has been recognised for his dedication to the town.
More than 80 nominations were made for Devon’s community transport awards and Trevor Fogwill was among 10 esteemed recipients at County Hall.
SVS, which has a lunch club and takes disabled and elderly users shopping or to hospital appointments, was also shortlisted for the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2016.
Frances Newth, who nominated the charity, said: “I feel that we have been recognised and admired for the voluntary work that has been valued for over 50 years in Sidmouth and also the fantastic team of volunteers who enable the SVS to continue to support our most vulnerable residents.
“It was really special to be shortlisted in a national Queen’s award and, despite the very strict criteria, to gain such accolade.”
