Sidmouth Seafest organisers appeal for footage from past two years
An award-winning team is set to immortalise the legacy of Sidmouth’s fishing heritage in a pair of films to premiere at Sea Fest in May.
The Herald this month revealed details of the exciting project to shed light on the town’s coastal connection and document the ‘incredible’ stories behind its maritime history.
Acclaimed Sidmouth-based cameraman Simon Vacher – along with award-winning writer and director Jo Stewart-Smith - is set to capture the footage. The premiere screening on the Ham will mark a first for the town.
Louise Cole, one of the driving forces behind Sidmouth Seafest, has also put out an appeal to the community for any footage of the annual celebration from the last two years.
The submitted films could go on to become part of The Sidmouth Net Flicks project that aims to document the town’s coastal heritage for generations to come.
A host of free, fun events and activities are planned for the Seafest celebrations at Port Royal on Saturday, May 13, leading on to an exciting evening of live music, with local singers and bands, and the film screening.
There will be a charge for tickets for the night time line-up, with full details to follow soon.
